Hi, we're Alex & Kyle- the hearts behind Frolic. ☀️
Our story is rooted in the land, in the things we grow, and in a shared mission of being of service to this planet and it's inhabitants.
We're farmers & builders, and Frolic is where our passions come together.
Two paths, one purpose.
For the past eight years, Kyle has poured his heart into building Ten Mile Mushrooms, a specialty mushroom farm born from his fascination with the natural world & a desire to make fresh, organically grown food more accessible.
For the past six years, Alex has been walking with the plants- studying herbalism, tending gardens, growing food, and exploring the traditional wisdom of the botanical world.
Together, we're passionate about growing food, practicing regenerative agriculture, and supporting the well-being of our communities.
From surviving to thriving.
For much of my adult life, I struggled with chronic illness.
I remember finally landing my dream job- something I'd prayed for, for years- only to feel like a shadow of myself. Chronic inflammation, food sensitivities, debilitating brain fog & absolutely zero energy. It was a long, dark chapter.
Looking back, I think the only way I made it through was sheer willpower & determination. Eventually, after years of searching, I finally got answers & medical treatment.
Somewhere along the way, I fell deeply in love with the world of plants. What started as curiosity grew into a passion for herbalism, growing food & learning from nature.
Today, I'm so grateful to be in a different chapter. I'm still finding my way, but instead of just trying to get through the day, I'm dreaming, creating & growing again.
That journey is a huge part of why Frolic exists.
Where the plants and fungi meet.
Bright Side, our very first product, was inspired by the botanicals that became such a meaningful part of my personal journey, alongside Kyle's years of cultivating mushrooms at Ten Mile Mushrooms.
It's a natural extension of the lives we've built around growing, learning, and working with the Earth.
We believe that wellness is foundational to experiencing life to the fullest. We believe that caring for ourselves can go hand in hand with caring for the planet, and that our well-being is deeply connected to the world around us.
Above all, we believe there's incredible wisdom in the natural world- and that a lifelong relationship with plants, fungi, and the Earth can inspire us to live with greater intention.
We created Frolic from a place of deep appreciation- for the journeys that brought us here, and for the opportunity to build something so incredibly meaningful together.
